Oakbrook Chumash Interpretive Center Thousand Oaks California

The Oakbrook Chumash Interpretive Center was created to enhance the public's awareness and understanding of the Chumash People native to Southern California, both historically and culturally through a visual, verbal and hands on experience.

Oakbrook Chumash Interpretive Center

This was the first Web site I ever designed (way back in 1995).

I was going through the Graphic Design and Visual Communications program at UC Santa Barbara. I needed to take some elective classes and saw a class in HTML. I had NO idea what that was, but I was curious, so I took it.

My assignment for the class was to design a small Web site for a nonprofit organization. As a result of this site, I was offered an internship at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, redesigning some of their pages. My first paying client came as a result of the pages I did for the Natural History Museum.
