QChord wins two different awards.

The "Directors' Choice" and "Judges' Selection" awards were presented at a reception held at the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) international conference held in Atlanta on November 9th, 2000 and was presented by Early Childhood News. NAEYC conference is the largest annual gathering of child care providers.

"We are proud to host the Directors' Choice Awards as a service to both early childhood educators and parents," said Judith McGuinn, Publisher of "Early Childhood News. "It is the only program that focuses on products within the context of the child care setting, although many of these products will appeal to parents as well. It is also an opportunity to draw attention to the important work being done for young children by educators and product developers."

"We have created the 'Judges' Selection' to single out unusual or outstanding products," McGuinn explained. "We want to continue to recognize many excellent products with Directors' Choice Awards, but we also wanted our judges to be able to identify a smaller group of products for special attention".

The Suzuki QChord is a digital songcard guitar. Not only is it great for non-musicians, but professionals are using it too. Now I am hearing about how it is being used as music therapy for children and adults with disabilities, as well as in the child care industry! I have one, and it is quite fun!
