AEFK brings together top entertainers, celebrity sports figures, business leaders
and community volunteers to help disadvantaged youth. Their purpose is to give
less advantaged young people positive childhood experiences that can motivate
them to create futures rooted in success and hope, rather than failure and despair.
AEFK's programs are specifically designed to give these kids alternative life
options - the kinds of options that fuel new dreams and aspirations.

Shaquille O'Neal
Shown are the front and back of the "Award Medal" that I designed for the "First
Annual Shaq Games". Actual size of the medal is 3" in diameter. They are cast
of solid metal and are quite heavy! There were "Gold", "Silver" and "Bronze" award
medals given to all the participants on each of the winning teams.
In addition to the medals, I had the honor of designing a 70 page souvenir/program
book for this event (Not pictured).
Money from this $1,000.00 per ticket fundraising event (yes I attended!) went
to support the youth programs of Athletes and Entertainers for Kids.
The event was held on September 8, 1996 at Universal Studios, Hollywood, California.
It was hosted by Shaquille O'Neal of the Lakers and his attorney Leonard Armato.
Event was produced by "Athletes and Entertainers for Kids".
Title Sponsors of the event were Pepsi, Reebok, Taco Bell, and Nickelodeon.
Other advertisers/sponsors for this event included:
Warner Brothers, GTE, The Walt Disney Company, Nissan, Häggan-Dazs, Showtime
Entertainment, MCA/Universal, Los Angeles Lakers,
K-mart, Spalding, Amgen, Rockwell, Aerospace/Rocketdyne, Kareem Productions,
Sterling/Winters Co., and Kathy Ireland to name a few.
